Continuing FUJIFILM's series of compact, portable primes, the black XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR is a 24mm-equivalent wide-angle lens, well-suited to landscape, nature, and architectural shooting. Its f/2.8 maximum aperture balances size and speed, and is suitable for working in available lighting conditions while also limiting the overall size and weight of the lens for everyday use. The optical design features two aspherical elements to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations in order to produce greater sharpness and accurate rendering. A Super EBC coating is also used to control flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright and backlit conditions. Complementing the optics is a stepping motor, along with an internal focusing design, which provides quick and especially quiet focusing performance. Additionally, the lens is weather-sealed to suit working in inclement conditions.

Prime wide-angle lens is designed for APS-C-format FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 24mm equivalent focal length.
Moderately bright f/2.8 maximum aperture suits working in available light conditions and also helps to maintain a compact form factor.
Two aspherical elements limit distortion and spherical aberration in order to realize greater sharpness and accurate rendering.
Super EBC coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.
Stepping motor, along with an internal focusing design, affords fast and quiet autofocus performance that benefits both stills and video applications.
The lens body incorporates weather sealing to protect against dust and moisture, and to enable worry-free use in inclement conditions and freezing temperatures as low as 14°F.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

The “FUJINON XF16mmF2.8 R WR” features a focal length equivalent to 24mm (in the 35mm format) and has a maximum aperture of F2.8. It helps to deliver the best results from Fujifilm’s unique X-Trans™^*1 CMOS sensors. Small and lightweight, the lens offers very high resolution performance due to the optical design. The XF16mmF2.8 R WR lens adopts an inner focusing system^*2 driven by a stepping motor^*3 for faster and quieter auto-focusing. Metal parts are used extensively on the exterior providing a premium yet robust feel, while the aperture and focusing rings have been designed to be comfortable and easy to use. The lens is also weather and dust resistant, and operates in temperatures as low as -10°C, making it ideal for shooting in a variety of conditions.

The XF16mmF2.8 R WR will expand the lineup of compact, lightweight and stylish lenses, which currently includes the FUJINON XF23mmF2 R WR, XF35mmF2 R WR, and XF50mmF2 R WR, further broadening the appeal of FUJIFILM mirrorless digital cameras.

The lens features 10 lens elements in 8 groups including two aspherical elements. Optimal arrangement of aspherical lenses suppress spherical aberrations and field curvature while maintaining high performance from the center of the screen to every corner.

Compact, lightweight and stylish design?

The lens weighs just 155g and is 45.4mm in length. It is the widest lens of the compact prime lens series. The aperture and focusing rings feature precise click stops and smooth damping for enhanced operation. The metal exterior uses the same design style as XF23mmF2 R WR, XF35mmF2 R WR, and XF50mmF2 WR for a robust, premium feel.

Fast and silent autofocus?

The inner focusing AF system uses a stepping motor to drive lightweight focusing elements for a fast, silent autofocus performance.

Weather and dust resistant, capable of operating in temperatures as low as -10°C?

The lens is weather-sealed at nine points around the barrel making it weather and dust resistant. It is designed to operate in temperatures as low as -10°C. Used with the weather and dust-resistant FUJIFILM X-Pro2 or X-T1/T2/T3, and X-H1 bodies means users can shoot confidently in light rain or dusty environments without worrying about the conditions
