The lens' multi-coating has been re-engineered to match the highly reflective silicon based CCD and CMOS sensors in today's digital SLR cameras. The AF system is not supported by D40, D60, D3000-series, and D5000-series cameras. The lens must be used in fully manual mode when used with the D3400.
