The 2024 Advanced Half Cage Kit from SmallRig protects and adds accessory-mounting options to your battery grip-equipped Panasonic LUMIX GH5 camera. Kit components include a baseplate with front and back 15mm LWS rod support and a three-sided cage frame. Constructed from an aluminum alloy, the 2024 Half Cage maintains access to the camera's controls and ports while mounted to your GH5.
The baseplate raises the camera to the appropriate height for use with rod-mounted accessories, and incorporates 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for mounting on a tripod or quick release plate. Accessory mounts include one cold shoe, one NATO rail, one ARRI-style anti-twist thread, and multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 accessory threads.

SMALLRIG Advanced Half-cage Kit 2024 is exclusively designed for Panasonic Lumix GH5.Two M4 threaded holes at the bottom of half cage are utilized to connect the cage and baseplate to ensure 85mm rod height. 15mm rod clamp could attach Black Aluminum Alloy Rod 1051 for Shoulder Pad 1485 and Battery Plate 1547. 1/4’’ threaded holes on the side of top are used to lock Lumix GH5 DMW-XLR1 Helmet Kit 2017. This cage that is anti-twist designed locks camera firmly and is good for heat dissipation as well. The cage fits the camera and battery grip completely. An array of 1/4’’ and 3/8’’ threaded holes at the bottom of baseplate are compatible with quick release plates of different standards.

It is equipped with an abundance of 1/4'' and 3/8'' threaded holes for DIY operations as per your needs. With 1/4'' threaded holes on the top, you can attach SMALLRIG Top Handle 1984 or NATO Handle 1649 with NATO Rail 1409.
There comes with rubber cushions on the surface of the baseplate, which increases friction for camera to prevent twisting. Also, the rubber cushions can protect the camera body from scratch.
