Designed by Tokina to allow photographers to create true works of art, the opera 50mm f/1.4 FF is a fast normal-length prime lens for Canon EF-mount DSLRs. Its especially bright f/1.4 maximum aperture offers improved control over depth of field for working with selective focus techniques and also benefits shooting in difficult lighting conditions. This lens sports a refined optical design, which includes both low dispersion and aspherical elements, to match contemporary high-resolution sensors in order to realize a high degree of sharpness and clarity. An ELR Coating is also featured to control surface and internal reflections in order to greatly reduce flare and ghosting. Suiting a multimedia method of working, a ring-shaped ultrasonic motor has been used to provide fast, near-silent autofocus performance that is ideal for photograph and video applications alike. Additionally, this 50mm f/1.4 also sports a weather-sealed construction for working in inclement weather conditions.
The Tokina Opera 50mm F1.4 FF is designed for high-performance full-frame DSLR cameras. It incorporates sophisticated lens engineering and electronic design to meet the needs of contemporary photography. It is equipped with ring shaped ultrasonic motors for fast and quiet operations. It also comes with Tokina’s ELR lens coating and weather sealing technology.
The lens is constructed with 3 lens elements that are moulded from super-low dispersion glass and one aspherical glass element in the rear-focus lens group. This construction effectively surpasses chromatic aberrations and helps in shooting sharp edge-to-edge images at all apertures. It incorporates a 9-blade, round shaped diaphragm for naturally beautiful bokeh.
This lens is provided with Tokina’s ELR (Extremely Low Reflection) coating to specifically target the visible light spectrum that enters and penetrates through the lens. The coating drastically reduces the reflection ratio and dramatically reduces ghosting and flare. This can be handy when shooting in challenging lighting conditions, especially when strong and bright light sources are within the image. The lens also employs dust-resistance and weather sealing in 8 areas in lens construction, which are most vulnerable to dust and water penetration. Thus, this lens does not let you down even in the harsh and adverse weather conditions.
To ensure fast and precise AF, the lens relies on a high-speed, ring-shaped ultrasonic motor. This motor renders near silent operation, thereby acting as a fast and quiet tool for photographers and filmmakers.
